Your Activity

WELCOME TO A BALINESE VILLAGE

You will be welcomed into a local Balinese village and community compound, where our host will introduce you to the meaning and traditions behind Nyepi, Ogoh-Ogoh, and the Pengrupukan ceremony. This is a chance to understand the cultural and spiritual significance of this unique Balinese celebration.

WALK TO THE OGOH-OGOH SITE

Take a short walk with the local community as they move the Ogoh-Ogoh statues toward the village entrance. Along the way, you’ll observe how villagers gather, socialize, and prepare for the evening festivities.

JOIN THE LOCAL CEREMONY

Learn how locals perform the Pengrupukan ritual, a ceremony meant to warn and neutralize negative energies (bhuta kala). You’ll also have the opportunity to participate by playing traditional instruments, joining the community in this symbolic ritual.

WATCH THE OGOH-OGOH FESTIVAL WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Observe the Ogoh-Ogoh statues on display during the festival in the local banjar (community hall). We will also drive you to a nearby spot in the Ubud area where you can enjoy impressive Ogoh-Ogoh creations in a more local, less crowded setting, allowing for a more authentic cultural immersion.

Meet at the Village Meeting Point 4.00 PM
You will be welcomed by our host and introduced to the cultural significance of Nyepi, Ogoh-Ogoh, and the Pengrupukan
Village Walk & Ogoh-Ogoh Preparation
Walk with the local community as they prepare and move the Ogoh-Ogoh statues toward the village entrance.
Join the Pengrupukan Ceremony
Experience the Pengrupukan ritual, where the community symbolically drives away negative energies (bhuta kala).
Ogoh-Ogoh Festival Viewing
Watch the Ogoh-Ogoh statues on display during the village festival in the local community.
End of Experience 7.00 PM
The tour concludes after the Ogoh-Ogoh viewing.
