Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Impact Trips, we strive to be as flexible as possible while ensuring we can honor our financial commitments to our local partners, host families, and NGOs.
Because our “Experiences” (trips, workshops, and volunteer activities) involve coordinating with local guides and drivers who rely on this income, we have structured our policy to protect their time and preparation.
1. Impact Trips & Local Experiences
1.1. Cancellations by YOU ( The Guest)
All bookings are final and non-refundable.
We do not offer trip cancellations or refunds once a booking has been confirmed, regardless of the reason or timing of the cancellation.
No-Shows:
Participants who do not attend the Experience are not eligible for any refund or compensation.
This policy is in place due to prior commitments made with our local partners, vendors, and drivers.
1.2. Cancellations by US (Impact Trips)
We operate on a “D-3” Rule, meaning we review participant numbers 3 days prior to the scheduled date. We may cancel an Experience if the minimum number of participants (usually 2 people) is not met, or due to unforeseen operational issues.
If we cancel: You will be notified immediately and offered three options:
- Proceed with the Experience (Additional Cost Applies):
You may choose to continue with the Experience as scheduled by covering the additional cost required to meet the minimum operational expenses. Store Credit: Convert your full payment into credit to use on any future Impact Trip.
Full Refund: Receive 100% of your money back to your original payment method.

2. Force Majeure (Unforeseen Circumstances)
In the event of “Force Majeure” (e.g., natural disasters, sudden government travel bans, or severe weather that makes the activity unsafe):
Rescheduling: We will first try to move your booking to a new date.
Credits: If rescheduling is not possible, we reserve the right to issue a Trip Credit (valid for 12 months) instead of a cash refund. This policy ensures the sustainability of our organization and our ability to support our local partners during crises.
3. Donations
As a social enterprise, some contributions on our site may be direct donations to our partner NGOs.
General Rule: Donations are non-refundable.
Error Correction: If you made a donation in error (e.g., typed the wrong amount), please contact us within 3 days of the transaction, and we will happily correct it for you.
