Your Activity
Canang Sari Making Class
Step into the warm embrace of a traditional Balinese household and learn the art of Canang Sari—a Hindu Balinese daily offering that embodies gratitude and harmony. Taught by a local family, you’ll learn how to weave together fragrant flowers, leaves, and natural elements to create your own Canang Sari.
As you craft this beautiful offering, you’ll gain insight into its deep spiritual significance in Balinese culture and the heartfelt intentions behind each gesture. It’s a hands-on experience that connects you to the island’s rich traditions in a truly authentic way.
Ancient Fire Ceremony & Meditation
Melukat at Tirta Empul
Immerse yourself in the sacred waters of Tirta Empul, one of Bali’s most revered temples, for a Melukat purification ceremony. Surrounded by the serene beauty of ancient stone carvings and flowing springs, you’ll take part in this deeply spiritual ritual, guided by a local who will share the temple’s history and meaning. With the Canang Sari offering you’ve created, you’ll present your intentions and let the holy waters wash over you, symbolizing a fresh start and a deeper connection to the island’s spiritual energy.

Our Effort for Sustainable Tourism
About the Family You’re Supporting
Meet the host family from Banjar Keliki Kawan, Payangan, who are key to our Impact Trips. With a monthly income of IDR 1.5 million ($100 USD) from Mr. Budiana’s labor, they struggle to meet daily needs and support their children’s education. Despite these challenges, they are committed to preserving Balinese traditions and engage in social and cultural activities, reflecting Bali’s heritage.
Using Tourism to Empower Communities
Bali’s 80% source of income, tourism, is undergoing a transformation. While modern attractions overshadow traditional values, our mission is to use Bali’s main industry to preserve it’s cultural heritage and empowering local communities. Through our trips, travelers immerse in authentic experiences, while a portion of the proceeds is reinvested to sustain these traditions and uplift the community.

Here’s what our guests have to say!
Anastasiia BelashovaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We spent the weekend joining the Impact Trip Canang Sari Making Class and the Melukat ceremony at Tirta Empul. It was a very interesting and meaningful experience, a real chance to learn about Balinese culture. Everything was well organized from start to finish, and the team guided us clearly through each part of the experience. We also enjoyed meeting other nomads who are just as interested in local culture as we are. Overall it was a wonderful and memorable day! We would definitely recommend it to others! Sandra GomezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an amazing time at the kite-making experience. It was truly special to make a kite alongside a Balinese family with decades of experience. The whole process was so authentic and meaningful. I definitely recommend this activity to anyone looking for a unique cultural experience. Phil NichollsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. These guys really do amazing work and put on beautifully curated events. I always feel that any events and trips I attend will be helping to contribute to local causes and communities which is so important. The events themselves always involves connecting with local communities and gives you the chance to really learn from knowledgeable and passionate individuals. Honestly, Nomad's Giving Back are an inspiration, the world needs more people like this. Margot PanissetTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an amazing experience with Made and Mr. Mardika. I met them for a fire ceremony and meditation in Kelusa village, called Homa Yadnya in balinese culture. The priest, Mr Mardika, hold the ceremony and shared many insights from his culture. Made accompanied me throughout the ceremony and translated as we went along. The sharing was really enriching and authentic, I loved it and will come back with pleasure :-) Tom LuckettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a great time at the event, Muti and her little helpers were really friendly and made everyone in the group feel welcome ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ebony AllenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a great time on the Nomads Giving Back Nyepi tour. Wonderful people, amazing experience. Would recommend! Jana StanfieldTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So glad Nomads Giving Back exists, to give us a way to connect with others who want to be givers and not takers. I enjoyed the get-togethers, getting to know other difference makers, and I love it that this gives me a way to volunteer at the same time I'm spending time with people I admire. Great concept, great team. Marion BazinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a great community to hang out with! My initial goal was to meet new people (both locals and foreigners), and do activities together, so I started attending their Cultural Game Nights in Canggu, which are always a lot of fun. As adults, we sometimes take ourselves too seriously and forget to be playful, so those evenings are a great way of bringing back the fun after a busy week! I’ve also joined one of their Impact Trips. I wanted to learn more about Bali’s culture and traditions, and travel a little off the beaten paths, where no traditional tour agency or guide would ever take me. I was lucky to share meaningful moments with a local family who taught me how to craft Balinese offerings in a remote village. I really loved the concept of traveling beyond the sole purpose of visiting places, and of giving part of the proceeds to a family in need. I find any experience so much more valuable when it has meaning and purpose! And if that weren't enough, I’ve also attended one of their online Masterminds, which was a great way for me to connect with fellow digital nomads/entrepreneurs and get support and feedback on my work. Nomads Giving Back offers connections and experiences across the board, from tourism, to entertainment, to entrepreneurship. And to top it all off, the team members are super friendly, fun, and kind. Thank you so much guys for all you do. See you soon! Táňa NovákováTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This organization is created by such a lovely people ! 🥹Made me feel welcomed and gave me feeling of a family once I firstly came to Bali not knowing anybody.
